Last week all of us in the LEHR family got together and took these pictures. While we were trying to get closer and stay in the shot, we all realized how far we have come in such a short time. From the EPA Clean Air Excellence Award in May, the Popular Mechanics Breakthrough Product Award in October, the Handy Magazine Innovation Award in November, and with a slate of new products coming in 2010 and beyond, it has been a very full year. With marketing, engineering, accounting and our executives all huddled together outside of our green building in Los Angeles, we all felt lucky to be able to do what we do in the context of something that really matters. As our CEO is fond of saying, it is the application of technology that has begun to destroy this planet and it is only through a more intelligent application of technology that we can begin to reverse that trend. Throughout the year there have been challenges, opportunities and successes. In the coming months and years there will be plenty more of the same. But maybe, hopefully, inevitably we can do something positive and change the way people interact with their environment one small engine at a time.

We want to hear from you...

Although we are an environmentally friendly technology company, what we really do is create solutions and opportunities for people to make environmentally conscious choices. Starting with our CEO, Captain Bernardo J. Herzer and continuing through our corporate offices, the fabrication center and our warehouse, LEHR is committed to making sure that our customers are completely happy with our products and services. Like in any family and community adventure, things happen unexpectedly, and questions come up. If you have comments, concerns, questions or suggestions, we want to keep hearing from you. Getting feedback has been a great learning process for those of us here at LEHR. All of your comments, blogs and reviews, positive or negative influence the plans we make, the products we design and the profile of our customer service. We have already made significant design and instruction modifications to answer some of your questions and meet your ever changing needs. So, we are listening and responding to all of your comments to make sure that our current and future technology is not in conflict with the future of our planet.

Welcome...

This is Go LEHR Green where we will be exploring ideas and issues that entice, excite and energize all of us fighting for a cleaner planet. In the coming weeks and months, you will have the opportunity to enter a community of individuals who care about something worthwhile and are willing to do whatever they can to make a difference. We are the leaders of a new “green economy” where a subculture of caring will replace our current culture of consumption and we are all looking forward to it. As opposed to the big picture thinking of alternative energy sources, the re working of the grid, solar power, wind turbines, bio diesel engineering and the like, the largest impact will happen person by person, home by home and community by community. Whether the community is on your block and in your neighborhood, or online and worldwide, there is strength in numbers. If the only green thing you do today is carry groceries in a reusable shopping bag, replace an old light bulb with a CFL model, or use a refillable water bottle, multiply that by all of us and change happens. Our planet is not a victim to the stock market, foreign oil, the mortgage crisis or the recession. Our planet is reacting to our actions...all of us. We are the agents of change: one person; one action; one idea at a time. Please join in and welcome to Go LEHR Green!
